It’s the end of summer and the start of autumn, the days are noticeably shorter and the mornings and evenings cooler, the harvest moon full and very bright. The last of the fields are being cut for silage and the majority of hay bales are safely stored in their barns. Traditional stubble burning is no longer an option to clear the ground of seeds after the wheat and barley harvest, so weeds will have to be controlled with herbicides.
